PAPA MY LOVE.

It's true that girls fall in love with their fathers before any other man in their live. Especially when they are great dads. Like my Papa. This is a letter dedicated to the man he was while he still breathed.

Dear Papa:

As we all so much loved to call you.I remember the first day our little Hope could articulate her first sentence and she couldn't understand why Mom too referred to you as Papa whilst she wasn't born of you😂.

She's all grown up now, not clueless to the fact that out mother felt safe, loved and protected by you. She is a spitting image of you. She has those plum fingers of yours she always dreaded as a kid. She thought they would thin down with passing time. Funny enough,it's the one part of herself she now loves the most .It reminds all of us of you. 

I can't forget how often she asked for you after you passed on. It always left us dumbstruck, soiled in tears. A constant reminder that we would never see you again, touch you again, love you everyday.

The void is still deep. It still hurts as though it was just yesterday. 

Your Frame still hangs in our home just as much as you will forever live in our hearts.

I prayed and asked God to at least keep an eye out for you if he won't bring you back.I can only trust that you are in a better place today. You were the greatest loss for us here on earth but I believe amongst heavens biggest wins. I'm indebted to you. I want and hope to fall in love with a man that posses most of your qualities.

Thank you for teaching me strength.It keeps me going on my weakest of days. 

Thank you for teaching me freedom. It has taught me so much responsibility. 

Thank you for teaching me kindness. It taught me to be there for those who don't have and to appreciate the little I have. 

Thank you for teaching me Love, care and joy. I miss the joy in your eyes and the sound of your laughter. It sometimes shakes me to my core when I can barely remember it.

I miss you at our birthday parties,I missed you on my graduation day  and I will miss your presence on my side walking down the aisle. Your grandchildren will know you even in your absence.

Your best friend misses you the most. She never fails to constantly remind us of you. Mom really  has been a hero raising two girls on her own all this years. She never fails to tell us that she finds the strength to keep going because of you and the love you immensely shared amongst us.

I know we'll meet again so keep smiling and watching over us Papa. We feel your presence in our lives, now more than ever. We love you Papa but God did love you most and we will have to learn to remember you longer than the time we have known you.
